‘John’, a 41-year-old facilities manager, was going through a challenging and messy divorce that was taking a toll on his mental health. The emotional stress from the separation was triggering panic attacks, making it difficult for him to manage his daily responsibilities both at work and in his personal life. Feeling overwhelmed and struggling to cope, John was advised by his mental health first aider at work to contact Lighthouse Charity for help.
Lighthouse Charity provided John with access to counselling services which focused on helping him develop tools and techniques to manage his anxiety and panic attacks.
The support also had a positive impact on his personal relationships, as John has since, formed a new, healthy relationship and he now feels more confident to handle the emotional challenges life may bring.
“From now on I’d always tell my colleagues to reach out to Lighthouse.”
