From 5th–7th September, 34 anglers from HHCGL and MACL came together at Crowsheath Fishery in Billericay, Essex for a weekend of fundraising and fishing in support of the Lighthouse Charity.

The Fishathon is a friendly but competitive 48-hour fishing event where participants test their skills, patience and endurance. Over the weekend, 34 anglers spread out across two lakes at Crowsheath, a well-known fishery surrounded by quiet countryside and woodland. The peaceful lakes offered the perfect backdrop for a mix of serious fishing and time spent with friends, family and colleagues.

This year’s catch included plenty of memorable moments, with the biggest fish weighing in at 29lb 12oz. Away from the water, Combat2Coffee arrived on Saturday morning to serve fresh tea and coffee, keeping everyone warm after an early start. Later in the day, families and supporters joined the anglers for a relaxed BBQ by the lakeside, adding to the sense of community.

A big thank you goes to HHCGL and MACL for hosting another fantastic event, and to everyone who took part, donated, or came along to show their support.
