We Urgently Need Your Help
For 70 years, the Lighthouse Charity has been delivering life-changing and life-saving support to the construction community, but we are now facing one of the toughest years in our history. The cost of living crisis and the increase in fuel prices have accelerated pressures on construction workers this year. As a result, more families have contacted us for help than ever:Â
We have supported 51% more people this year than in 2025.
We’ve delivered 65% more meals to families with empty cupboards.
Our counsellors have held 7,429 life-changing conversations.
But instead of cutting services, we’ve spent £4.3 million/€5 million on charitable support up to July alone.
The winter months bring a further increase in support as the nights get darker and the weather gets colder. In order to keep supporting construction workers and their families, we need to raise a minimum of £200,000/€233,000.
We urgently need your help. Every day our team are hearing first hand about the incredible pressures people are under. Workers who are unable to cover the cost of basic necessities, people who are trying to cope with caring for sick children and relatives, and workers who are experiencing suicidal thoughts.
