National homebuilder, Bloor Homes recently welcomed our #MakeItVisible On Site team to their development at Thurston Grove in Mid Suffolk, prioritising their workforce wellbeing.

Bloor Homes remains a family owned and run housebuilder, recognised as a five-star builder by the Home Builders Federation’s (HBF) customer satisfaction survey 2025. The development at Thurston Grove will see a variety of tradespeople and contractors completing the build over a two-year period.

The visit saw the many trades on site stand down and join together to hear first hand about the wide variety of emotional, physical and financial wellbeing support available to them and their families.

#MakeItVisible tour ambassadors Sam Warner and Ray Elliott delivered a toolbox talk focussing on the crucial topic of workforce wellbeing and offering practical steps to promote self care at work and home. They also shared the vital support services delivered by our charity, signposted to the many resources available including the 24/7 confidential helpline, live web chat and Lighthouse Beacons across the country.

But the most hard hitting and poignant part of the visit was when Sam and Ray shared their own lived experiences in a frank and open manner. It was clear that their personal struggles were relatable and resonated with the site team, creating a bond of trust and time to reflect within the group.

Following the talk, site employees were able to engage in confidential conversations with our team who created a safe space for people to start a conversation.

Hannah Burgess, Bloor Homes HR Director said, “‘Today the Lighthouse Charity attended the Bloor Homes Thurston Site for a ‘Make it Visible’ tour to raise awareness of the importance of looking after your own mental wellbeing.

“The Lighthouse Charity offers holistic support across all aspects of emotional, physical, and financial wellbeing support and they are there when members of our industry need it most. Their commitment reminds us that looking after each other is vital: whether it’s offering a listening ear, providing counselling, or simply offering practical assistance, they make a real difference every day.
