Borras Construction, a leading construction company, annually organises a significant fundraising event. This year, the team decided to take to the waters after the staff’s unanimous choice leaned towards a kayaking adventure. Despite the original plan for kayaks, the team embraced the challenge with canoes, showcasing their adaptability and enthusiasm for a good cause.
The event, held along the picturesque Wye Valley, proved to be a resounding success. Participants not only completed the demanding two full days of canoeing but also exceeded their sponsorship target.
“We supported the Lighthouse Charity in our canoeing fundraiser down the River Wye because we believe in helping our community. It’s not just about bricks and mortar; it’s about extending a helping hand and making a positive impact by our fellow construction professionals in times of difficulty,” said a representative from Borras Construction.
The inspiration behind choosing this particular activity came directly from the Borras Construction staff. They not only selected the event but also took charge of organising logistics, raising funds, and, of course, actively participating in the adventure.
Among the memorable moments and highlights, the stunning scenery of the Wye Valley stood out as the ultimate experience. However, for those seeking a touch of humour, the sight of James H and Tommy E capsizing in the rapids added a splash of entertainment to the already exhilarating journey.
