Kingerlee Environment Manager Completes Epic Fundraiser

Kingerlee Ltd’s Health, Safety, and Environment Manager, Keith Shackleton, along with his wife Bobbie, embarked on an epic ‘Coast-to-Coast’ fundraiser. The motivation behind this challenging journey was to check off a bucket list item they had both dreamed of and to support Kingerlee in raising funds for our charity.

Despite encountering rainy weather and experiencing only two sunny days, Keith and Bobbie successfully covered an impressive 192 miles in 13 days. The picturesque Lake District served as the starting point, leading them through the stunning landscapes of Yorkshire. Throughout their journey, they faced the challenge of navigating 29,000 feet of ascent and descent, equivalent to scaling and descending Mount Everest from sea level, accomplishing a staggering 491,763 steps.

The incredible feat did not go unnoticed, as Keith and Bobbie’s efforts resonated with the Kingerlee Team and beyond. The generosity of the team contributed to a fantastic total of £550 raised during the ‘Coast-to-Coast’ challenge. When asked why Kingerlee Ltd chose to support us, a representative explained that the charity was selected as the company’s charity of the year due to a strong commitment to mental health within the construction industry. Recognising that employees are the cornerstone of the company, supporting our charity provides an opportunity for Kingerlee to give back to the individuals in their community.
