We are looking for firms to help support our fundraising in the South East as growing numbers of workers find themselves struggling with a variety of wellbeing issues.
All our regional clubs are managed by volunteers who offer their valuable time and experience to deliver fundraising events and share information about the charity’s various routes to support and events in their local region.
Lyndsey Gallagher, Chief Operating Officer of Maidstone-based Gallagher Group Ltd, one of the region’s leading aggregates, civil engineering and property development companies, is Chair of the South East Region. Speaking first hand about the challenges of the industry, she said “Construction is a fantastic industry, but sadly our statistics surrounding mental health issues are very poor. It is essential we look after our workforce and support them with empathy and compassion, especially when times are tough.”
She is looking for new members to join the regional committee to help organise fundraising events, including a spring dinner which takes place at the Ashford International Hotel. The event raises more than £100,000 every year through table bookings and auction prizes donated by local business supporters. The event celebrates the success of local businesses and is renowned for its networking opportunities and top of the bill sporting celebrities with past speakers including football manager Harry Redknapp, champion boxer Frank Bruno and rugby international Kyran Bracken.
Ms Gallagher said: “We are so appreciative of our supporters in the South East – they really get behind our annual dinner, helping us to raise vital funds that provide the all-important charitable services provided by the Lighthouse Charity.”
