A fantastic team from Asbestech recently triumphed over the demanding Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge. Their incredible accomplishment has resulted in a donation of over £5,000, which will provide a significant boost to our essential services.
This remarkable feat took place on Saturday, 27th April. The team embarked on a demanding 24.5-mile trek, battling a total ascent of 1,585 metres across the iconic peaks of Whernside, Ingleborough, and Pen-y-ghent, all within a challenging 12-hour timeframe. Their unwavering determination and resilience are a true inspiration.
The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge serves as a perfect illustration of the theme for Mental Health Awareness Week 2024, “Movement: Moving for Our Mental Health.” It highlights the well-established link between physical activity and improved mental wellbeing.
We are especially grateful to Alessia Gilbey, Contracts Manager at Asbestech, for her initiative and leadership in organising this fantastic event. Alessia stated, “The goal was twofold: to foster a strong team spirit and to spark important conversations about mental health, all while raising vital funds for a cause we deeply care about.”
We are incredibly proud of this team’s exceptional achievement and their unwavering commitment to supporting our charity!
