On Saturday, 15th August, a team from MMD Construction took on Galtymore, raising €1,480 for the Lighthouse Charity through the hike and other fundraising activities held across their Head Office and sites.
The hike brought colleagues from across MMD together for a great day on the mountain, while raising funds and awareness for Lighthouse. Fundraising began in the lead-up to the hike, with MMD employees getting behind the initiative through a Potluck Lunch at Head Office, coffee mornings across a number of our sites, individual donations and sponsorship.
Together, these efforts raised a fantastic €1,480.
The team set off from MMD Head Office early on Saturday morning before meeting at Galtymore to begin the climb. There was plenty of encouragement, teamwork and good humour throughout the day, with everyone supporting each other along the way.
“It was a great day and a brilliant opportunity to bring colleagues from different areas of MMD together outside of work. There was a great atmosphere throughout the hike, and knowing we were also raising funds for the Lighthouse Charity made the challenge even more worthwhile,” said Amanda Lennox, HR Manager at MMD Construction.
She added, “The fundraising was a real team effort, extending well beyond those who took part in the hike itself. A huge well done to everyone who took part and thank you to everyone who supported our fundraising efforts. We are delighted to have raised €1,480 and to support the invaluable work of the Lighthouse Charity.”
