Adrenaline was felt by all guests at this year’s Annual Wilson James Construction Industry Motor Racing Challenge – now in its third exhilarating year. With 60 guests from the construction industry in attendance at the world renowned PalmerSport facility, the 2025 edition was the most successful yet, raising an incredible £48,706 in a single day for the Lighthouse Charity. This brings the total raised so far to over £100,000.
Attendees pushed their limits on track in eight expertly prepared performance vehicles, including the highly anticipated McLaren Artura GT4, Formula 3000 single-seaters, and the show-stopping Palmer JP-LM.
The excitement didn’t stop at the track. After a day of full throttle fun, guests gathered at the Bedford Swan Hotel for a three-course dinner, live auction, and a well-earned overnight stay.
From the screech of tyres to the spirit of giving, this event continues to blend motorsport excellence with industry generosity.
Managing Director Tony Palombo said, “We work in an industry which traditionally suffers from unacceptably high levels of mental illness and associated tragedy, and trying to find organisations that understand and reflect the specifics of construction pressures on people is very difficult. We came across the Lighthouse Charity some years ago and have found them to be on point with the assistance and help they can provide. We are now into our 3rd year as a supporter and look forward to working and supporting them for many more years.”
