The Western Branch held its annual lunch on the 2nd of November at the Double Tree Cadbury Court. This year’s event was kindly sponsored by Carey Group PLC. Once again the event was a sell out with demand outstripping supply. We managed to fit over 360 guests in for a fantastic three course meal and plenty of liquid refreshment.
The audience was entertained by comedian and compere, Stan Boardman who performed miracles with a PA system that took some time to warm up. Comedians, Rod Woodward and Nina Gillard put our punters in a happy and generous mood for the successful auction. Altogether, the ‘heads and tails’, ‘poppy fines’ and many generous donations from our loyal members we raised £9400 on the day.
Preparations are well underway for our 2018 Spring Ball on 19th May and we would strongly advise booking early to secure your place.
And of course, we already have our annual lunch booked too. Make sure you have Thursday 1st November in your diary!
