The Paye team successfully completed the Three Peaks Challenge, tackling Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon in just 22 hours and 42 minutes, raising an incredible £15,000 for our charity. The physically demanding challenge not only showcased the team’s determination but also their commitment to supporting the construction community.

The idea was spearheaded by Ben Powell, Head of SHEQ, who led the planning with the team. Preparations included fundraising efforts, training sessions, and route planning, all aimed at maximising donations. “We wanted to set the bar high, and I think we achieved that,” Ben shared.

A memorable moment came during the nighttime climb of Scafell Pike, where the hikers were met at the summit by Chairman Adrian, his wife Anna, and CEO Paul Newsam, despite the challenging weather. In a spontaneous show of appreciation, the team sang “Happy Birthday” to Anna while Paul handed out Mars bars, lifting spirits before the descent.

The challenge involved 10 hikers and two drivers, whose support was essential in making the event possible. For Paye, this was their most ambitious fundraising effort for our charity, which has been their chosen charity for the past three years.

Reflecting on the achievement, Ben expressed pride and gratitude. “£15,000 surpassed all expectations—it’s been a hugely positive experience,” he said. Plans are already underway for a new challenge in 2025, continuing Paye’s dedication to supporting the people who make the construction industry thrive.
