Cara Stationery’s ‘Tenner for the Lighthouse Club Charity’ smashes target

To celebrate their 20th Anniversary, Cara Stationery launched their ‘Tenner for the Lighthouse Club Charity’ and aimed to raise £5000.

The concept was simple, all they asked was that their suppliers and customers donated just £10 to help raise funds for the charity that supports those that need a helping hand in the construction industry. This can range from providing financial support to someone who has a long term illness or injury through to someone that may need assistance with occupational health issues.

Gerry Keaney, Managing Director of Cara Stationery said, “With over 60% of our clients working in or being associated with the construction industry, we wanted to make sure that we supported the charity that does such a great job in looking after those in need in the construction industry. We were also celebrating our 20th anniversary and wanted to mark the occasion in a memorable way. We worked on the basis that if everyone was to simply donate a very manageable £10 then we could soon reach our £5000 target. In reality, many people were much more generous and so we eventually raised over £6000!

Cormac Mac Crann, Chairman of the charity helped launch the campaign and all of Cara Stationery’s vans carried the lighthouse club’s logo to help raise awareness. The company also sponsored the charity’s event clothing and provided generous discounts on their exhibition material, along with supporting the charity’s golf days and annual Christmas lunch.

Bill Hill, CEO of the Lighthouse Club Charity said, “We’d like to thank Cara Stationery and all their supporters who helped raise such a terrific amount of money. Getting your supply chain to join in with campaigns is always great and means that we can spread the word about the help we can offer to construction workers and their families in need.”
