MMD Construction Conquer ‘Hell & Back’ Challenge

Last month, a determined team from MMD Construction braved the infamous Hell & Back challenge at Killruddery Estate in County Wicklow, Ireland. They came out the other side caked in mud, tired but triumphant.

From icy lakes and electric shocks to swamp crawls and steep rope climbs, the challenge put the team through their paces — and brought them even closer together.

“It was a great day — genuinely one of the best team-building experiences we’ve had. Everyone dug deep for the cause and for each other, and the atmosphere was incredible from start to finish,” said Amanda Lennox, HR Manager at MMD Construction.

Behind the mud and sweat was a remarkable fundraising effort. Thanks to coffee mornings, pot luck fundraisers, and generous donations, MMD employees raised an incredible €2,882.50 for our charity.

“Our team were absolutely amazing — their energy, positivity and willingness to support each other and the cause was inspiring. This wasn’t just a fitness challenge; it was a powerful expression of who we are as a company — supportive, resilient, and community-driven,” Amanda added.

Whether tackling the course or cheering from the sidelines, the entire MMD community came together for a day filled with laughter, camaraderie and shared purpose. And while the mud may have washed off, the impact will be felt for much longer.

“We had such a wonderful day and time raising money for the charity and were very lucky it coincided with our site visits from the #MakeItVisible team” Amanda said.

A huge thank you to everyone at MMD Construction for their incredible support and if this year’s challenge is anything to go by, we have no doubt MMD will be back, muddier and more motivated than ever.
