It was all systems go when Aleksi Kessen and Stella Matthews of Northern Gas Networks, held a Christmas raffle to raise funds for the Lighthouse Club.
Several prizes were generously donated to the raffle by contractors and included Christmas hampers, Ipads, several Amazon Echos’ and a PS4. In total the teams at Northern Gas Networks managed to raise an impressive £600 through the sale of raffle tickets to colleagues and contractors with Northern Gas Networks charitably donating a further £100 bringing the total to £700.
Northern Gas Major Projects first became aware of the charity through the Considerate Constructors Scheme, of which Northern Gas Networks are a client partner. The scheme helps the Lighthouse Club Charity market and distribute the helpline cards and posters to ensure that workers know where to turn to in times of need.
So, in addition to raising money for the charity, Major Projects have also ensured that their workforce have access to the 24/7 Construction Industry Helpline.
Ian Whitehead, Major Projects Programme Manager, said: “The feedback from the people involved with the raffle has been really positive whether they work for NGN or one of our suppliers. They have typically talked of the pleasure in being able to work together on such a worthwhile cause that’s linked to both our industry and to the Considerate Constructors Scheme. Everyone at Northern Gas Networks is proud to have been able to support this cause and we’re very grateful to everyone who took part and to our contractors for their generous prize donations.”
A great big thank you goes out to everyone that participated in Northern Gas’s Lighthouse Day, your support in helping us spread the word about the helpline and your super fundraising is very much appreciated!
