The team at Balfour Beatty, Charlton’s Thames Barrier team kicked off their year of fundraising for the Lighthouse Club Charity with some delicious multi-cultural food offerings.
The Thames Barrier team is about 50 strong, so there was something for everyone when it was decided to have a multicultural lunch day. Whether it was a Spanish paella that took your fancy, Polish meats, Indian or English cuisine the plates of food were soon devoured, keeping the hunger pangs at bay and raising money for charity at the same time.
The team also plan to hold more events throughout the year and are busy planning what else they will be doing. They hope to keep a ‘Thames’ theme running through their events so we’re looking forward to hearing all about those!
Ana Navarro from Balfour Beatty who organised the multi-cultural lunch said, “Our office has people from many different backgrounds and we wanted to celebrate the food heritage of the various nationalities. So, as well as having lots of lovely food on offer, we also raised vital funds for our construction colleagues in need.”
