CSCS - Your golden ticket
We will refer to the labourer card here, but as you improve your skills, you can apply for higher-level cards. Getting your card happens in three steps:
Get a Qualification
To start with, you will need a Level 1 qualification (or a CSCS-approved alternative). For more details, contact your local college or Jobcentre Plus to find the right course.
Cost – Between £80-250
Pass the HS&E Test
You can book your HS&E test on the CITB website. You will need to study the course material and take a 45 minute test with 50 multiple choice questions. Once you have passed, you will need to wait 24 hours for the next step.
Cost – £22.50
apply for the card
You can apply for your card on the CSCS website. You will need all of your personal information handy, as well as details about your HS&E test. Watch the handy video below for step-by-step guidance.
